Resigned or new job

If you have resigned from the job from which your pension contributions were paid, or you have started in a new job, maybe abroad, payment of contributions will normally be discontinued. You may also have resigned from your job due to illness or an accident.

If you have resigned from your job or changed jobs, it is a good idea to contact us for advisory services.

When payment of contributions is discontinued, we send you a letter informing you about what you should be aware of.

The period of non-contributory cover takes automatically effect if payments to your pension scheme are discontinued before you have reached the agreed retirement age in the pension scheme and you have not retired.

This means that you maintain your right to your current insurance covers and the group insurance for the first 3 months after payments have been discontinued. This is called non-contributory cover.

You can apply for having the 3-month period prolonged. This must be done before the period of non-contributory cover expires. You can apply for prolongation of non-contributory cover for 1 year at a time for up to 3 years. If you want to apply for prolongation of the non-contributory cover, you must contact us.

If you have left your job due to illness, do not have a job or have become a self-employed, please contact us. This also applies if you consider transferring your savings.

In the period of non-contributory cover we deduct the costs for maintaining the insurances from your savings. Non-contributory cover applies when payments are discontinued before the agreed retirement age in the pension scheme.

You may also have the possibility of continuing the pension scheme yourself or through a new employer.

Private payments
If you want to pay contributions yourself, you must contact us so we can make sure that the pension covers still meet your requirements. Private monthly contributions are adjusted annually at 1 January. The adjustment rate equals the adjustment rate applying to annuities certain which is determined by the Danish Ministry of Taxation.

Payments through a new employer
If you want your new employer to pay contributions, you must send information about payment to your employer. If the monthly payment from your new employer differs significantly from the previous payment, you must contact us so we can make sure that the pension covers still meet your requirements.

There are special rules applying if you are working abroad, depending on whether you are liable to taxation in Denmark. You can read more here
